“Wude” is the Chinese term for Martial Ethics.
Many people believe that the martial arts are something that is made strictly to hurt people. It may be good for exercise, but the people who do something made to hurt people must be sadistic right?
What many don't understand is that Martial Arts are also a form of discipline and moral ethics. To study this art form, one must master not only their body, but also control their emotions and train their mind and spirit. In fact, martial arts was created by Zen monks in china as a callisthenic, but as roads became more dangerous, the monks found the exorcises were also a good defense. And so was born Shaolin Martial Arts of which all martial arts originate.
All martial arts strive to better the practitioner in mind, body, and spirit.

These are a series of promotional posters I made over the summer for a local martial art school. I have removed the wording from the advertisements except for the Chinese in which is written “Shaolin Chuanfa” or, Shaolin Kempo. This is an American martial art of southern style Shaolin origin. Most Kempo schools, like traditional Chinese martial arts, salute with the right hand in a fist, and the left covering it. This is a symbol that states: “I come in peace, but I am prepared to fight.”
